DailyOM Reviews Yoga Lounge

Popular daily mailer DailyOM published a great review of Tadasana co-founder and DJ Fabian Alsultany's recent album on White Swan Records, Yoga Lounge. The stunning internationally flavored collection features numerous Tadasana artists, including Karsh Kale, EarthRise SoundSystem and Jai Uttal

"Globesonic walks it like they talk it, bringing live events to spots like the 68th Street Pier in New York City so gathered revelers can watch the sun go down over the Hudson while grooving with an outdoor sound system. For Yoga Lounge Cuban-Iraqi-American DJ Alsultany, a restless global traveler who has worked the turntables for festivals and yoga parties around the world, mixes up some of the most consistently effective tracks from his love arsenal, with squelching 303s and irresistible classic beat loops running over, under, and through powerful kirtan chants and ancient sinuous grooves and odes to past yoga masters."

In case you missed it (and you shouldn’t have), Tadasana teacher Kia Miller graced the cover of Yoga Journal’s January 2012 issue. Congratulations Kia!

Tadasana teacher Shiva Rea offers this beautiful insight from San Francisco:

Be penetrated by the increasing light - wherever you are. During our Living Yoga Sadhana meditation call for this morning, the sun rose between these two buildings in downtown San Francisco. Makar Sankranti begins tomorrow honoring the next six-month cycle till the Summer Solstice where all creative endeavors and sadhana have the momentum of the Sun’s light. We will be chanting with Krishna Das and dancing tomorrow with Dragonfly (special yogini offering with myself and Deb Rubin). If you are in SF, join us at Yoga Journal SF.

Tadasana performer Karsh Kale recently traveled alongside guitar virtuoso Baiju Dharmajan to the sleepy town of Angadipurram in Kerala to write and perform ‘Sacred Science’ with Harigovindan, a master of the edakka drum who runs the world’s only temple devoted to percussion. Watch more music by Karsh here.
